  The PTF is the school's "Parent Teacher Fellowship". We provide many extras for the school and are always looking for volunteers. We have lots of things going on for you to become involved in. Listed below are some upcoming events for you to consider.  


Upcoming PTF Events

Serving OCS Lunch - 11:30 AM - 12:35 PM ... Servers Needed.
   
Thanksgiving Lunch ... Servers and desserts needed.
   
Participate in at least one fundraiser during the year.
   
Help with the drama - dinner theater.
   
Christmas Store - for elementary students to do their Christmas shopping.
  We need donated items and parents to help students shop and wrap gifts.
   
Donate desserts for all programs ... Christmas, Graduation, etc.
   
Christmas Breakfast - For teachers and staff.
   
Help with Sports Banquet.
   
Help with Ring Dinner.
   
Provide support to sports teams.
   
Gym Uniforms.
   
Special assemblies and other fundraisers.
   
Book Fair ... scheduled for November.

The PTF is participating in the Tyson Project A+ program.

Please save the panels from bags or boxes of all participating Tyson products.

American Clothing Recycling

  American Clothing Recycling provides a collection box in our parking lot in which donations can be placed. After collection, the clothing is brought to their factory and weighed, and OCS is then paid 3 cents per pound on a monthly basis. The donations are then sent to a third world country where they help meet the needs of their citizens.  

  Acceptable items include the following:  

  • All Men's, Women's, and Children's clothing
  • Handbags
  • Belts
  • Shoes and Sneakers
  • Bedding ... Sheets, Blankets, Bedspreads
  • Draperies and Curtains
  • Towels
  • Hats
  • Scarfs
  • Stuffed Animals

For ease of handling, all items should be left in tied plastic bags, paper bags, or boxes.

Paper Recycling Program

  GreenFiber provides a collection box in our parking lot in which donations can be placed. This will help OCS earn money and reduce waste removal costs while helping to conserve our natural resources. GreenFiber makes environmentally friendly, safe, and efficient insulation from the paper products that you recycle.  

  Acceptable items include the following:  

  • Phone Books
  • Newspaper
  • Office Paper
  • Paperback Books
  • Paper Bags
  • Brown Craft Paper
  • Cardboard Food Packaging
  • Shredded Paper
  • Broken Down Cardboard Boxes
  • Magazines

Please DO NOT put anything in plastic bags!

  The PTF is participating in the Price Chopper Tools For Schools program. Please check out the documents on the Downloads page for more information on how to participate in helping raise money for Oakwood Christian School!!  
     
  Log on to their web site and register your Price Chopper AdvantEdge card for our school code 18644. This will automatically earn credit for the school every time you use your AdvantEdge card. If you signed up for our school last year, you do not need to re-register.  
     
  Your purchases will earn points between September 14, 2008 and February 14, 2009.

  The PTF is participating in Hannaford Helps Schools program. Please check out the documents on the Downloads page for more information on how to participate in helping raise money for Oakwood Christian School!! Every purchase of 4 participating products at any Hannaford Supermarket will earn 3 school dollars to be used for school services, supplies, and other needs. School Dollars print out with your register receipt. Please turn in School Dollars at the OCS office.  
     
  The program runs between September 4, 2008 and December 4, 2008.

Please save the box tops with the logo from all General Mills brand products.

We are currently collecting cell phones to recycle.

There is a collection box located near the school office.

Bring in your used cartridges from any inkjet or laser printer.
